Stanford, Northwestern, UChicago alumni represented in team dedicated to solving genetics’ data problem
Whole-genome embryo sequencing sounds like a promise the fertility field has made before. One team is aware of the mountain of work ahead of them. From a molecular geneticist-turned-lawyer building a company around data rigor, to a Stanford-trained multi-omics researcher translating RNA sequencing into embryo selection decisions, to a Northwestern clinical genetics chief with 200 published papers setting the ethical guardrails — this team was not assembled to sell a testing service, but to address a gap that has limited progress in reproductive genetics for decades.
One team has unified around one premise: more data is only better if it helps clinicians and patients achieve their goal of successful pregnancies.

They've Seen the Field Settle for Less. They're Here to Set a New Standard.
Rather than treating genetic testing as a commodity service or a direct-to-consumer add-on, Juniper Genomics represents a deliberate break from low fidelity PGT-A and low value PGT-P. Its work is aimed at closing the gap between what reproductive genetics currently delivers and what modern clinical genomics can responsibly achieve.
Juniper’s approach begins with PGT-A and extends to PGT-G, integrating whole genome analysis into embryo evaluation. The goal is clinically meaningful genomic insight that strengthens decision making and improves IVF outcomes.
Jeremy Grushcow serves as Founder, CEO, and Acting Chief Scientific Officer. With a background in molecular genetics and cell biology, combined with legal training, he brings both scientific depth and strategic oversight to the company’s direction. His previous experience translating genomic research into clinical solutions informs Juniper’s emphasis on rigorous data and improved embryo viability insights.
Supporting product development is Kaylene Ready, Chief Product Officer. With two decades at the intersection of clinical genetics and genomic technology, she brings experience from both direct patient counseling and digital health product development. At Juniper, she focuses on ensuring genomic advancements translate into usable, clinician-aligned tools within fertility workflows.
Medical oversight is provided by Lee Shulman, Medical Director and Chief of the Division of Clinical Genetics at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. With over 200 peer-reviewed publications and board certification in both Obstetrics & Gynecology and Medical Genetics, Dr. Shulman guides clinical relevance and ethical standards in the application of whole-genome embryo screening.
Juniper’s computational infrastructure is led by Greyson Twist, Lead Engineer, whose background in clinical genomics engineering includes work at Children’s Mercy Kansas City’s Center for Pediatric Genomic Medicine. His role centers on building the systems required to analyze millions of genetic markers per embryo while maintaining clinical reliability.
Adam Reeves, R&D Manager, brings experience from his PhD and post-doc at Stanford University where he conducted research in developmental genetics and longevity. At Juniper, he built and validated the approach to variant analysis that helps translate complex genomic findings into clinically usable insights for embryo selection decisions.
Senior Scientist Charles Cole leads foundational bioinformatics development. With prior experience at Sema4, the NIH, and Claret Bioscience, and a PhD from UC Santa Cruz, he architected Juniper’s sequencing analysis pipelines, enabling accurate detection and characterization of genetic variants from whole-genome data.
Megan Goodman, Head of Business Operations, bridges scientific and operational execution. With a background in RNA therapeutic development and laboratory research, followed by program and project management leadership, she oversees coordination across internal teams and clinic partners to ensure reliable delivery of genomic testing services.
Betting On a New Standard
Whether whole-genome and transcriptome sequencing becomes the new floor for embryo testing depends on hard science and a field willing to ask harder questions about what it's currently missing. This team is betting it will.
